This stuff just writes itself

I have a habit of signing up for free dating sites & then remembering that I don't like dating & never using them. I never upload pictures because my theory is that if I was a stalker I would stalk me. My latest venture was at plenty of fish which was a pretty cool site. Except when you go to message someone it tells you what you shouldn't talk about. Here are the least favorite topics of conversation.

Men hate talking about:

1. Past relationships
2. Other dates
3. Celebrities
4. Religion
5. Politics
6. Antiques
7. Money
8. Fashion
9. Gardening
10. Marriage

Women hate talking about

1. Politics
2. Other dates
3. Past relationships
4. Science fiction
5. Religion
6. Celebrities
7. Science
8. Antiques
9. Money
10. History

I can only assume that people have really stupid conversations when following the dating rules. Once again my love for antiques ruins my chance at relationships. Let alone my love of celebrities & my passion for celebrities antiques. Well that & the fact that whenever it says not to give out your credit card information to someone I start asking for people's credit card information.

I don't think I'd want to date a man who doesn't want to talk about any of that stuff.

You're a great catch and don't let anyone tell you you shouldn't ask for someone's credit card!

Oh good. So I can still discuss revolting health problems over spaghetti.

What about antique celebrites? Are they an okay topic of conversation?

Do people give you their credit card information? Just curious.

That's amazing. It also seems to presume that men want to have intelligent discussions about politics, while women are just so ignorant and dull witted that we simply long to discuss celebrities and fashion, but nothing of substance.

Recently, I thought I was ready to look at dating as an actual option in my life. I was wrong. I signed up for a Christian dating site (how scary could THAT be?). When I reviewed and was subsequently revolved by my first matches, I realized, "I've just put myself in the window so people can pull up my profile, be revolted and move on." I deleted the profile 2 days later.

I'm just not ready for dating sites. Especially if I can't talk about gardening fashions.
