Questions I want answers to

During my early twenties I was so conflicted with all of the big questions. I was basically miserable always trying to figure out all of life's problems. Why are we here? Where are we going? More specifically, why am I in this place at this time? Eventually, I figured out that it's ok to not know. I don't know why bad things happen to good people, I don't exactly know what is going to happen with my life. Since, I've accepted this, I've become much happier. However, there are still a few little questions that I want answers to:

  • At what age is it wrong for a woman (ie me) to wear funky nail polish? Does it matter if said nailpolish is only on the toes & not on the fingers? Is that more sophisticated? I just can't stand French pedicures. I know that they are more "grown up", but they make my toes look like fingers & that freaks me out. I've sacrificed my dark green nail polish. I've never worn black nail polish, I'm basically trying to avoid any color that makes me look diseased. However, I still use dark blue, orange, dark purple, lavendar. The only "normal" colors in my collection are pink, & by pink I mean retina burning fuschia, & a really pale pink that is so shiny it looks like tin foil.
  • Why is peppermint stick ice cream so much better/different than regular green mint ice cream? Is it the red & green dots? I had peppermint stick ice cream for the first time yesterday & I think it's my new favorite. I hope it's not one of those foods that you can only buy at holiday time. I've always avoided this flavor because I figured if I wanted mint I'd just buy mint chocolate chip. Boy, was I missing out. Is it low fat? I know from reading the label that isn't, but it's just so refreshing, does that mean my body will think it's low fat?
  • Why can't I work with Adam Brody? He seems to always date people he works with.
  • Why do they make zero calorie pepsi, coke & not rootbeer? Along with my nail polish, my taste in soda hasn't grown up, but I usually have to steer away from my favorite because it doesn't come in diet.
What questions do you want answers to?

I can't answer those last two, but for the first one, I think you can wear funky colors on your toes until you're at least 40. Fingernails maybe not, but I think toenails are fair game for any color.

For the second question- Regular mint ice cream is spearmint, but peppermint has a sweater flavor. Unfortunately, I do think it's seasonal. Totally lame because it's definately better.

Here's my question: How come couples arguing in movies always end up making out? Why doesn't this happen in real life? Or maybe it does happen to people, and just not me?

I think your nail polish and ice cream questions show that you have a very real appreciation for what bright pink adds to almost any situation.

Maybe that's what will unite you & Mr. Brody in a bond of eternal love?

As much as I love and adore JenKneeBee - I have to disagree. Being 42 and going on whatever, I'd say you wear whatever nail polish on whichever nails you want. Whenever and wherever you want. French mani/pedi - way over rated. Wear what you want to wear. It really only matters that it makes YOU happy. Having said that, there are quite a few women in their 40s that need to stop trying to dress like Paris Hilton or either of the Spears sisters.

I think I need to try that ice cream.

I think they need to make zero calorie lots of stuff. I'm with you on that.

Mr. Brody needs only meet you and he will fall in love with you on the spot. I think we should all check our 6 degrees of separation to see if we can facilitate this meeting.

1. The French pedicure thing is hideous. I've never understood why people do that. I've only ever gotten pedicures--not manicures. I type too much and long nails annoy me.

2. I must try this peppermint ice cream you speak of. I tried a peppermint mocha at Starbucks and it was fantastic!

3. Perhaps if you were to change your name to Lane, Adam might be more inclined to stay up all night reading the Bible looking for a particular passage so that he could take you to the prom! :) I love that scene.

4. There's no shame in the root beer game! I prefer Barq's to A&W though.

"I'm basically trying to avoid any color that makes me look diseased." - Good advice for anyone, I should think.

I have lots and lots of questions. I guess some of them are: how does one find, identify and capture the elusive species of "Nice Boys"? Where is the boundary between fiction and reality? Where is the boundary between being dorky and being "special"? Why, why oh why, does the worst food taste so good?

I think you can wear ANY color polis on your toes you want FOREVER!

I have put a lot of thought into that, by the way, and that is the conclusion I came to :)

Toenails- any color till your dead. Then, black is appropriate.
Adrian Brody-hmmm. His mom is teaching a photography workshop at a conference I want to go there. He might be there. I won't be- too expensive.
Okay, the icecream? I think it's seasonal. I tasted some this year and it was delish.
