Maybe I'm just sheltered...
I saw that they changed the warning label on aspirin bottles. It used to read "consult your doctor before use", or "do not take with alcohol." Now it reads "if you consume three or more alcoholic beverages everyday consult your doctor because acetaminophen products might not be right for you". What kind of idiot medical professional is going to warn you not to take aspirin so you won't have to cut back on three alcoholic beverages everyday? That's like putting a warning label on forks that says "If you stab yourself in the face more than twelve times a day consult a doctor before use because forks might not be right for you"

Maybe my doctor would recommend I change to spoons.
Warnings of that kind are always written with idiots in mind. Or by idiots. :) In my experience!
I once went on this date with a doctor who told me that, in medical school, he and his fellow med students used to take aspirin before drinking since aspirin, as an anticoagulant (sp?), makes the alcohol hit your bloodstream more quickly.
Medical professionals are interesting . . .
My favorite warning is still the one on the shower cleaner that warns not to use it as a body wash.
I am suspicious of over the counter meds as well. For example, how do we know Nyquil helps my stuffy nose and cough, if it knocks me out first? I mean really when I'm sleeping like the dead, it's hard to take note of how much my nose is running.
p.s. You're hysterical.
And how is it that you can maintain 47 blogs while I can barely keep up with 3? You're amazing!!
it's like they're recommending moderation. 12 fork stabs might be too much, but 10 is okay. :)
