Modern Day Superman

I was just watching Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman from the 90's and it really struck me how many aspects of those classic comic book characters are dead. It also reminded me of my unfortunate 6th-8th grade haircut based on Teri Hatcher. Every story goes like this:

Clark Kent and Lois Lane do journalism stuff at the Daily Planet. Clark Kent then rushes out to save the world by changing into superman in a phone booth.

Now it would be more like:

Clark Kent telecommutes to his job at a content mill after the Daily Planet went out of business as all newspapers do. He spends most of his time on Facebook where he flirts with his coworker lalalane who may or may not be who she says she is. In between this he manages to type out acai berry related rewrites with a super fast typing speed. When he is alerted of danger he rushes outside. First, instead of taking off his glasses like the old superman now like all good telecommuters he has to change out of his jammies. Then he wanders around for 27 blocks looking for a phone booth. Eventually he picks up his iPhone and starts looking for a phone booth generator app.

This is true. Any Superman shows/movies produced in the future will need to set their story in the fifties.

I actually liked Teri's hair (seasons 1 and 2 only, as clarification). It was very shiny and swishy. And I totally copied it.
